Howdy Y'all,

Here's another little catch up post, let's be honest my posting is pretty sporadic at the moment but I like doing these 'Currently' posts so you know I'm actually alive and I'm just generally a busy bee at the moment!

Currently WATCHING: The Undateables. I love this show, it warms my little heart. I think some of the people they follow are absolutely hilarious. I’ve heard people slagging off the show saying that it’s cruel to laugh at people with learning problems/disabilities but I don’t think that is the case at all. They are looking for love and dates are always gonna be awkwardly funny in my view.

 

Currently READING: I’ve not read a novel for ages actually (send me some recommendations!) I got a couple of books out from the library-I’ve been reading a book called ‘How to be Interesting’ which has quite a cool psychology behind it, and I started reading a book called ‘Zero Waste Home’ (wow that sounds boring!) but it’s actually pretty interesting. I’ve been noticing how much stuff in the house is wasted from food, to junk mail etc and it really makes me sad how I’ve got into this mindset. I mean the book is a bit hardcore, she doesn’t use anything with packaging and goes on about using cornflour instead of make-up etc but I think there are some ideas that I can get on board with...

Currently WEARING: I’m obsessed with my HEATTECH thermal tops from Uniqlo. I’ve been wearing them under my work uniform and teaming them with my jeans or shorts for my days off, so easy to wear, wash and they keep my little lizard body warm haha.

Currently AMAZED BY: Coconut oil! I bought a jar of Lucy Bee’s coconut oil from Amazon and I’ve been using it for everything. I will write a proper post about it soon as I don’t know how I lived without the stuff! I’ve been using it in cooking, as a hair treatment, mixed in with smoothies and on my skin! So many uses, such a magical product.

Currently LOOKING FORWARD TO: MOVING HOUSE! I'm sure if you follow me on Twitter or know me in 'real life' you'll know that I'm moving house next month! I'm so excited to be moving back to Preston after over a year commuting to and from Lancaster.

Myself & my housemate have found a dreamy flat that is in a great location, literally 30 seconds out the door and we're in Avenham Park and about 5 minutes walk to work :) So it's gonna save me around 2 hours every day in commuting times. So I'm packing my life into boxes again! (I wish they were cute vintage boxes like the photo!) Naturally I'm going into organisation/house inspiration overdrive on Pinterest at the moment. 

Currently LISTENING TO:  Lana Del Ray-Once Upon A Dream. I’m so excited for Maleficent to be released! I think Angelina Jolie will be fantastic and I always love a good re-imagining of a Disney classic.

Currently PONDERING: Whether or not to start up a vintage shop again. Ideally I’d like a second job to earn me a few extra pennies, Working in the evenings after working all day isn’t the worst but I’d rather have some free time to myself. I think that an online ebay/etsy shop could work out well and then I could do a few local vintage fairs too. I’m going to check out the Riverside Vintage Fair at The Continental tomorrow to see what it’s like. I quite fancy doing a stall on the flea market too!

Currently IN LOVE WITH: Ian Somerhalder, seriously it was just a crush from the early days of Vampire Diaries but now after following him on Twitter and seeing all the amazing work he does for charity & for the planet I have a lot of love respect for the guy. Can you imagine if all ‘celebrities’ cared so much? Plus the Instagram selfies of him with his cats are ADORABLE!

Currently BUYING: Nothing exciting. After paying for crazy estate agents fees & paying back a chunk of my overdraft I’m on a bit of a ‘spending ban’. I’ve got a few things on ebay and I’m trying to de-clutter and sort out before buying anything else. The rent on the new place is quite a bit more than what we’re paying at the moment so I’m being a sensible soul and saving some money. (I need this kitty bank!)

Currently #2...

Hello!

Ooops I've not posted for a while AGAIN, I know last time I posted was a 'Currently..' post but I feel like it's better to come back with a few updates rather than something a bit random. Anyway on to my favourite things over the past few weeks...

Currently WATCHING: Once Upon A Time In Wonderland. I’m a fan of the original Once Upon A Time series and when I noticed they had created a ‘spin off’ style show based in Wonderland I was a little bit apprehensive. Don’t get me wrong I love Alice In Wonderland, but it’s not exactly a fresh idea. However I've watched 3 episodes so far & I’m hooked. I think the casting is great and the story-line is different to any other Wonderland versions so far. I love the fact that there are nods to the original series and they do cross over in parts. The one thing that is annoying is the amount of times they say ‘bloody hell’. Haha okay, okay you’re American producers but how many times do you think us Brits say bloody hell!?

Currently READING: 'May Cause Miracles' by Gabrielle Bernstein. I know some people are a bit weirded out by so called ‘self-help’ books but I find them so interesting. I only discovered Bernstein’s work by accident a month or so ago and decided to borrow a few of her books from the library. What she does say is pretty ‘funky’ (in her words) at first but her writing is really resignating with me. I’d say I’m a pretty happy person anyways but this book really helps to explore & understand yourself by choosing a different perspective. I’m only half way through and it is a 6 week course so I will let you know how I get on :)

Currently WEARING: I went out in Manchester the other week and stayed at my friend’s new house in East Didsbury. On the Sunday morning we did some obligatory hung-over charity shopping! I loved the charity shops there & I did pick out a few good bits. My favourite find being a black, suede wrap around skater style skirt. It’s very structured & very nineties with its buttons up the front but it fits like a dream and I’m a little bit in love. Thanks to Sally for finding it for me whilst I tried on a million ridiculous things J I’ll update you with my latest charity shop finds soon.

Currently LOOKING FORWARD TO: My birthday! It’s my birthday in two weeks, and although I haven’t planned anything yet I’m sure something spontaneous will come together at the last minute. I don’t usually go to over the top but I like having a bit of family time and catching up with lots of people. More likely than not I will end up in a whimsical place with a few cocktails ;)

Currently LISTENING TO: Bit of a weird one but bare with me...I’ve been listening to a lot of meditation/relaxing/dreaming music recently. I’ve been trying to wind down earlier most nights so I usually light some candles and read my book in bed for an hour or so. Since listening to this music in the background I feel so much more chilled out. I try and find ones that last a few hours so I can drift off whilst listening to them. I like this album called 'Shamanic dream' which does sound a little Mighty Boosh-esque but it's really relaxing.

Currently PONDERING: My Halloween outfit. I’ve got to dress up at work, then potentially for a gig after work & I have a hippy themed party at the weekend so my mind is just a little bit occupied with possible costume ideas. As always I’m searching on Pinterest for inspiration and tutorials. What are people planning on dressing up as this year that is a little out of the ordinary?

Currently IN LOVE WITH: Jamie Dornan. Haha this is not a new crush as I’ve been a little bit in love with him since I first saw him on my screen as wolfy, Irish Sheriff in Once upon a time but now he has been cast to play Christian Grey! I’ve not read the books so I don’t really know what the hype is all about but I might just go and see it anyway for an oogle ;)

Currently BUYING: I’ve not really bought anything big over the past few weeks, in fact I’ve actually saved a bit of money! I’m the worst person at saving but I’ve got a little bit put aside in the Glastonbury festival fund. Hmm I just remembered that I bought two new sets of underwear from the Gossard sale late last night. I didn’t really need them but hey who doesn’t like a new set of underwear to cheer them up. Theres some pretty good bargains on the site to.

So that wraps up another week of my current updates. I’m sorry that there has been a bit of a lack of blogging/interaction but I’m currently working 3 jobs & volunteering at a charity shop in my spare time but more on that another day!

I do update my Twitter & my Instagram slightly more often than on here so if we don't already I think we should follow each other...

Hello Everyone,

I thought I'd start doing these little catch up posts on a Sunday so I can share my favourite things of the week with you :)

Currently WATCHING: Season 3 of New Girl! I literally squealed with delight when I saw that New Girl was back on Couch Tuner! I would like to be Jess and I have a little crush on Nick but I have to say that Schmidt is my favourite character!

Currently READING: I have just finished reading 'How To Be A Woman' by Caitlin Moran. I'd heard of her before but I've not really seen much of her comedy things or read anything by her. I really enjoyed her writing style, easy to read and full of hilarious anecdotes from her childhood to present day. Her view on feminism is spot on. I know 'feminism' seems to be such a controversial word whilst everyone interprets it differently. Moran shares her views without being 'girl-power' or 'anti-men' but instead it's more about embracing being a lady! Very funny & very eye-opening!

Currently WEARING: My h&m bowler hat. It's been on top of my head since it first dropped through the letterbox! Best £2.99 ever :) PS I used the £5 off code which is: 1304 You're welcome :)

Currently AMAZED BY: 3D printing! I watched this video and it has literally blown my tiny mind. It's a fairly long video but the process is just incredible! I read somewhere that when the technology becomes more advanced and readily available, people could have their own printers at home and print 3D clothes! Could you imagine!?

Currently LOOKING FORWARD TO: Is it ridiculous that I'm really looking forward to Glastonbury 2014!? I've never been before but myself and some of my bestest buds from uni have decided we're all going to go and have a reunion there. I've already registered so here's to hoping we get tickets when they come out next week :) Has anyone been before?

Currently LISTENING TO: I'm only about three years late with this album but I've just discovered Crystal Fighters  'Star Of Love', it's very difficult to pigeonhole what genre they come under but it's basically happy-time, carnival-esque electronic dance-punk! I like to play it when I wake up to put me in a happy mood for the day, it's also fun to hula hoop to :)

Currently PONDERING: My first tattoo! I'm such a ditherer and I keep chopping and changing my mind but I feel like I should just get one! My Instagram feed is full of amazing tattoos and I've been pinning loads too! I know I definitely what something vintage-inspired. I love the traditional style but I like them with a twist, Neotradtattoo on Instagram is beautiful! I also love the watercolour style pieces too :)

Currently IN LOVE WITH: Tommy Shelby aka Cillian Murphy in Peaky Blinders :) Always a fan of Cillian, his Irishness and those eyes. I also quite fancy him as a Brummie-accented, violent, gang-leader :P

Currently BUYING: I've not really bought anything this week as I get paid tomorrow and I've been skint as always. I've been a very organised soul and started my Christmas shopping already though :)

It's a very random mixture but it's definitely the little things that make me smile :)

So just a quick update- I've settled in nicely into my new home, I'm getting into the swing of working almost every day too! I've got a day off tomorrow so I'm going to do have a mooch around the charity shops, make my room a little more homely, start my Christmas shopping (eek!) & see if I can find a space in this house that would be acceptable for outfit posts! I've got lots of new things to share with you all...
