Whimsy Life: MINI ROOM TOUR!

Bonjour!
I know that I am an absolute sucker for room tours, I am a nosy-parker but an interior fiend! I can spend hours looking at room tours on YouTube or interior boards on Pinterest. I spent my childhood watching 'Changing Rooms' and 'The House Doctor' so I think about my living space A LOT! I would absolutely love to share all four corners of my bedroom with you but I'm not happy with how it looks. The landlord needs to give the whole place a lick of paint, new carpets wouldn't go amiss & all of my furniture is completely mismatched. However there are some cute areas of my boudoir that I don't mind sharing with y'all...

My shoe collection//Pretty, crafty books//My comfy bed//Cute storage boxes
Cakestand, marshmallow fluff & toadstool candles//Candle holders & coconut rum//Make-up storage// Mirror and antique plate

So as you can probably tell my room doesn't really have much of a theme but I'd like to think it's a bit bohemian and eclectic :) I get bits and pieces from all over the place but I thought I'd mention where a few bits came from...

Preston Flea Market: My cushions on my bed, the gold mirror and the antique plate all came from the flea market! On different occasions of course but all together the three items cost me less than a tenner! The cushions were cloth tablemats that I sewed together to make cushions!

Bargain High Street Shops: As I mentioned in a previous post Wilkos homeware is looking brilliant at the minute. They very kindly sent me the storage boxes and the tealight holder from their Wilde collection to adorn my little room. My duvet cover is also from Wilkos and is still going strong after nearly 4 years!

I got the 'R' initial mug that holds my make-up brushes from Homebargains and it was only 99p! The little drawers that hold my make-up are from Au Naturale aaages ago! Who remembers Au Naturale-it was amazing! I'm sure these drawers only cost a few quid and they have lasted almost 10 years! I think I'm going to decoupage or spray paint them as they are looking a little tatty now and could use a revamp.

Gifts: Last Christmas I received some really generous, cute homeware from my lovely work colleagues/housemates/friends! Some of the books were gifts, the toadstool candles, cakestands, flamingo make-up bag & initial tealight holder were all amazing presents!

So I hope you enjoyed this little sneak peak into my bedroom and hopefully when I'm happier with the whole look I'll share more photos or even do a cribs style video (I freaking love cribs!)

Do you enjoy room tours?
Thanks for reading :)

Dream Decor: UMM WILKOS?!

Oh hello there :)
I have a question for you all...WHEN THE HELL DID WILKOS BECOME AWESOME?!
I popped into my local store today and was genuinely cooing at pencil cases and bed covers. Then I thought aw yeah I'll do a little post on the cute stationary but when I looked on the Wilkinsons website there are tonnes of amazing things and they are so so cheap! Lancaster store is tiny so I'm sure bigger stores will have more incredible things. Honestly I'm really impressed and some of the products could be compared to Urban Outfitters homeware. They have a few different collections on the site, my personal favourite being the 'Wilde' collection.

Here are a few things that I will 100% be buying come payday :)

(From top left, clockwise(ish)

You can't beat some fluffy cushions to add a bit of homeliness to your bedroom. I'm really loving teal at the moment but the site has many other colours too. They are £7.50 each or 2 for £10-even better!

I absolutely love wallpaper especially when used on feature walls. I often peruse the wallpaper section on Rockett St George crying at all the £80 rolls of wallpaper I can never afford! This gorgeous tree pattern is only £8.50! I'd love to do one wall in my bedroom but I think I need to ask the landlord first. Who watches 'Once Upon A Time'? I love all the decor used in the series (examples here) and Regina's office is plastered in woodland wallpaper-dreamy :)

I really like whimsical cups and mugs and this one is no different! The print includes old telephones, bees, skulls, taxidermy magpies & rum! Could it be anymore me? Also the teal inside is another cute detail.

I know everywhere has gone a bit moustache crazy recently but I saw this cushion in the shop today and it looks lovely. Its illustrated design and cream burlap material makes it look a lot more expensive than it actually is.

I'm a bit woodland animal crazy especially for owls & foxes and these little paper wallets are SO cute! The fox looks very Aubin & Wills (RIP) and three for £1 is amazing value. I'm such a sucker for stationary too.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this duvet set and I was this close to buying it today but they had sold out of the doubles :( Black & white chevron print is everywhere at the moment and it just looks really fresh and crisp. I can't believe it's only £12 for a double & two pillowcases! My current duvet is from Wilkos and I've had it since first year of uni (almost 4 years!) and it's great quality and the colours are still bright.

I saw this is the store today too & I thought it was really sweet. It has a number two etched into it & although it something that doesn't really have a purpose I think it would look nice on my dressing table, or even in the kitchen somewhere.

I always buy really boring, crap umbrellas for a couple of quid but for a mere £4.50 this antique key print would cheer me up on the rainiest of days! The tea-stained effect is really cute and when in England do we not need an umbrella?!

Have you bought any home things from Wilkos before?
Thanks for reading :)
